Being a part of the DAV movement has become a point of distinction. In the field of education, its sphere has expended across national boundaries. The simple reason is that we do not take education to mean completing board and university prescribed syllabuses and thus preparing the learners for three-hour semester or annual examination.

We see that children have divinity in them. They are God's most beautiful creation. Teaching them is a huge responsibility. Education, therefore, is about soaking in all the knowledge gained during the processes of action and interaction. It is about translating that knowledge into wisdom and about applying that wisdom. It is about excellence. It is about running a race with yourself and emerging winner in your own eyes.

We live in a society. Society is built up of people who have aspirations, expectations and hopes in common. Since we are a part of it, we need to fulfill their wishes and faiths. The learners have to cope up with the expectations of the teachers, meet the standards of their parents and also conform to the peer group pressures and habits. They need to make hundred of choices from thousands of options in millions of areas every day.

Teachers must keep up their antennas up to recognize sensitive signals of stress that children undergo. The better they are at this, the greater the good they can do for them.

Education is also about equipping students with life-management skills – to focus on their goals and live value-centred lives. Values give meaning to life. They give a person his identity and character. Most important value is making the student believe in himself. If he has faith in himself, the teacher can, on the pillar of faith, embed in students "the can-do" attitude.

Always remember: When you come to the edge of all the light, you know you are about to step off into the darkness of the unknown, faith is knowing one of the two things will happen. Either there will be something solid to stand on, or you will be taught how to fly.

Give the learners wings and empowerment.

This is the road to holistic education.
